Networking with DIRAC

On the Wednesday morning of the Community Forum will be a new kind of session for the EGI community, Networking Sessions. They are designed to bring together people interested in a particular policy, technology or research question to discuss possible solutions or collaborations.

There are 5 different topics being discussed and we are going to be running a series of news items highlighting some of them. Here we have an interview with Ricardo Graciani Díaz, DIRAC's Consortium Coordinator, who has organised the DIRAC session.

EGI Federated Cloud founding member of European cloud marketplace

EGI’s Federated Cloud has joined seven other cloud service providers to launch a European marketplace to provide trusted cloud services that comply with EU regulations and legislation. The initiative, known as the Helix Nebula Marketplace, launches this month allowing customers from academia and industry to easily buy, use and manage a wide range of cloud computing services from multiple suppliers.

EGI gets closer to China

EGI.eu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP). The agreement cements IHEP’s position as one of the European grid’s major partner in Asia and is the foundation for long-term sustainable collaboration of China with the European grid.
