EGI launches Federated Cloud into production

Today at the EGI Community Forum David Wallom, the chair of the Federated Clouds Task Force, launched the Federated Cloud as a production service. The new infrastructure is based on open standards and offers unprecedented versatility and cloud services tailored for European researchers.

EGI Federated Cloud founding member of European cloud marketplace

EGI’s Federated Cloud has joined seven other cloud service providers to launch a European marketplace to provide trusted cloud services that comply with EU regulations and legislation. The initiative, known as the Helix Nebula Marketplace, launches this month allowing customers from academia and industry to easily buy, use and manage a wide range of cloud computing services from multiple suppliers.
